Al Joe is a Navajo silversmith from Window Rock, Arizona. Born in 1950, Al has been making jewelry for over 30 years. He works in both silver and gold, and he is especially well known for his handmade beads, and considers his work contemporary but with traditional roots. Al has won many awards for his work, including being awarded the prestigious IACA artist of the year award in 2001 and best of division at the Heard Museum show in 2005.
This gorgeous strand of handmade fluted and disk beads is made of sterling silver and 14 karat gold. The fluted beads measure 3/8 inch in diameter each. The disk beads are made of 14 karat gold and measure 5/16 inch in diameter each. The necklace measures 19 inches in length.
