Al Joe is a Navajo silversmith from Window Rock, Arizona. Born in 1950, Al has been making jewelry for over 30 years. He works in both silver and gold, and he is especially well known for his handmade beads, and considers his work contemporary but with traditional roots. Al has won many awards for his work, including being awarded the prestigious IACA artist of the year award in 2001 and best of division at the Heard Museum show in 2005.
This gorgeous strand of handmade fluted and disk beads is made of sterling silver. The fluted beads have a satin finish and the disk beads have a polished finish. The necklace measures 21 1/2 inches in length and the beads range in size between 9/16 inch and 1/2 inch in diameter.
