| Shane Hendren is a talented Navajo silversmith who specializes in the Japanese technique of mokume-game, a marriage of metals technique which represents his values of balance and harmony while reinforcing his traditional understanding of the universe. Shane has found many parallels between the Samurai tradition and his own Navajo traditions, and his jewelry is symbolic of the way Shane walks in two worlds and a physical representation of it. He has won awards from the Santa Fe Indian Market, the Heard Museum, and many other shows throughout the country. He is the 2007 IACA artist of year. |
