Navajo Sterling Inlaid Yei Pendant

Fred Begay

This gorgeous Yei pendant was made from sterling silver by Navajo artist Fred Begay. Fred was born in 1970 and began inlaying jewelry right after graduating from high school. He worked with Ray Tracey for 10 years and worked on many of Ray's signature pieces. He is married to Dornelda Begay and they live near Gallup with their 4 children.
This beautiful yei design pendant measures 2 1/2 inches by 1 3/8 inches and hangs from a 7/8 inch bail. Fred has inlaid the pendant and the bail with fossilized jasper, mother of pearl, and black jet. The sterling silver choker shown in the photographs is not included with the pendant but is for sale in our necklace gallery.
